Father of Composites, Brandt Goldsworthy, Birthday Today

By Globe Composite

The father and inventor of what we consider the modern day composite industries, W. Brandt Goldsworthy, was born today back in 1915 in California. During his career of almost 70 years, he offered the world its introduction to some of the first advanced composite materials and processes, such as fiberglass-reinforced laminates and the pultrusion process.  Working in almost every sector of the then burgeoning composite industries, he pioneered advanced materials for everything from the automotive and marine industries to aviation and space exploration.

Materials, equipment, and even computer systems used to program and monitor the composite processes wouldn't be the same without his innovations and pioneering.  See how far we've come since then by checking out how Globe Composite works with advanced composite materials.

For more info on Brandt Goldsworthy, read his short bio in CompositesWorld.
