Inside Sales Executive

Defense Products

Globe Composite Solutions, Ltd. is seeking a proven Defense Inside Sales professional to sell specialized design and manufacturing services for advanced composite products to the naval and marine defense industries.  Globe is a recognized leader in designing, formulating and manufacturing non-metallic composite components with a wide variety of casting and molding processes.

This individual must have a demonstrated track record of successfully selling to the naval defense industry. You will be responsible for leveraging and expanding Globe relationships and capturing new accounts, working with our existing customers to identify additional product sales opportunities, and scheduling WebEx demonstrations or face-to-face meetings between the customer and engineers. We are looking for someone with a keen hunter mentality and you must have a record of generating sales results by prospecting and cold calling.

Travel throughout the U.S. for demos and/or on-boarding face-to-face meetings may be required, so the candidate must live in a metropolitan market with convenient access to a major airport.  This individual will use his/her home office as a base of operations.

The Job  
  • Ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of technical sales experience and can close sales with short to long sales cycles.
  • An established network within engineering, program management or purchasing departments in the naval defense community is a definite plus.
  • Significant knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and the Department of Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFAR), customer budgeting process.
  • Understanding of U.S. Navy and DOD capabilities and the processes for requirements generation, system acquisition, and test/validation.
  • Understanding of foreign military sales and Security Assistance Management processes and procedures is a plus.  Proven ability to work with US Government agencies involved in the release of technical data and development of foreign acquisition programs a definite plus.
  • Understanding of customer requirements and mission needs; demonstrated ability to identify opportunities for strategic alliances and open new market segments.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills required. Ability to adapt to audience and project competence and confidence when speaking to range of audiences and groups.
  • Must have a high-level of proficiency in using Microsoft Dynamics CRM and other Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
  • Willing to travel up to 50-70% of the time, if necessary.

The following requirements are critical for the successful candidate:

  • Minimum 4-year college degree required
  • Active Security Clearance
  • Experience in a sales or business development in Defense industry
  • Experience in leading/supervising teams to include presentations, budget forecasting and communications
  • Experience with the DOD requirements/acquisition/budget/processes at various levels
Your Key Traits for Success  
  • Ideally, a mechanical engineering or equivalent science degree
  • Acquisition experience with Navy or prime contractors a plus
  • Active representation in one or several industry associations a plus
