Business Development Executive

Globe Composite Solutions, Ltd. is seeking a proven sales professional to sell specialized design and manufacturing services for advanced composite products to the naval defense industry.  You will accomplish this by driving new business through capture and proposal phases by staying involved and in support of all required actions through submittal. Globe is a recognized leader in designing, formulating and manufacturing non-metallic composite components.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing account growth, new business development, and customer relationship management across all levels within assigned accounts. The Business Development Executive must be results-oriented with a strong performance, cost management and bottom-line orientation. You must also have a demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals and possess strong analytical and leadership skills with a demonstrated track record in capture management, proposal development and execution to schedule and budget.

  • Promotes products, materials & capabilities, identifies and develops opportunities, coordinates marketing activities, and services existing and potential new customers. Primary performance metric is achievement of new projects generated and new booking objectives.
  • Assists in developing strategic plans, identifying product capabilities, understanding industry trends and customer needs, fostering partnerships and teaming with key players to support successful bids.
  • Develops capture plans, business cases, win strategies and collaborative bidding approaches   
  • Markets and sells Globe’s capabilities to a wide and diverse submarine industrial supplier base with a strong emphasis on new business development.
  • Supports new and existing customers, manufacturing and customer service personnel in resolving order fulfillment, technical questions and problems.
  • Defines customer needs and actively works with program management, operations, finance and engineering for proposal generation.
  • Maintains strong customer relationships throughout the process, before, during and after the sale.
  • Provides accurate and timely feedback of market intelligence and customer desires to management to assist in product support, improvement and development.
  • Represents Globe at conferences and trade association meetings to promote products.
  • Delivers sales presentations to key customers in coordination with other Globe representatives and engineering personnel.
  • Meets with key customers to maintain relationships, negotiate and close deals.
  • Establishes and maintains contact with key customers, suppliers, government agencies and others important to the success and growth of the company.
  • Leads proposal development and recommends strategies or tactics to optimize best value proposition for new opportunities. Assess alternative solutions and coordinates with Operations, Engineering and Finance.
  • Develops and fosters a high level of customer intimacy and engagement with all existing and perspective customers through regular travel to customer sites. Fifty percent (50%) of work time is expected to be spent meeting with customers at their business locations.
  • Ensures compliance with government contracting requirements such as GSA, Small Business Administration, FAR clauses, ITAR, and import/export compliance. 
  • Proven track record of successfully closing business to Government customers or to Prime Contractors including Lockheed Martin, General Dynamics Electric Boat, Huntington Ingalls Newport News Shipbuilding, Raytheon, Northrop Grumman, etc. is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing or engineering from four-year College or university, or technical discipline. (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Minimum of seven (7) years in business development, sales or program capture experience.
  • Excellent computer skills required, with proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
  • Strong overall business knowledge, excellent communication skills and ability to be organized and juggle multiple tasks at once is essential.
  • Active representation in one or more industry associations
  • Secret-level Security Clearance is preferred
  • Applicants living in the Boston or Baltimore/DC metropolitan area preferred.
