Globe to Provide Sorter Systems to U.S. Postal Service® Dallas TX and Rockland MA, June 18, 2009 – Globe Composite Solutions, Ltd., the leader in providing composite-based solutions for military, industrial and commercial applications, announced today that it has been awarded a contract from the U.S. Postal Service to provide two composite tilt-tray sorter systems for the Philadelphia Bulk Mail Center (BMC). This order marks the 17th and 18th composite sorter systems to be installed within the US Postal Service distribution network. Installation is expected to begin in mid-July. “We are pleased to continue to supply mission-critical solutions to one of our long-standing customers,” said Carl W. Forsythe, President & CEO of Globe. “The entire staff at Globe has worked hard to position to our company as an innovative provider of cost-effective, non-metallic components to a broad cross section of material handling and distribution center customers—ranging from parcel to airport baggage handing”, he added. This lightweight, durable, and energy saving, tilt-tray sorter system was developed by Globe to extend the life of existing metallic, tilt-tray sorters. The 100% non-metallic sorter system includes lightweight carriages, high-strength drive chain, actuators, and noise-absorbing track. This technology reduces energy consumption, maintenance costs and operational noise levels which improves the systems’ overall performance.
